Allstate Commits to Senator Cain That They Won't Leave Louisiana
For Immediate Release Thursday, July 27, 2006 Charlie Davis - (225) 485 - 7395 Print Version
Senator Cain has Called an Emergency Senate Insurance Committee Meeting with Allstate
(Baton Rouge – LA) Senator James David Cain, Chairman of the Senate Insurance Committee, personally contacted Allstate this week. During the discussions he asked for, and received, Allstate’s commitment not to leave Louisiana.
Lorie Brouse, spokesman for Allstate said, “Allstate is firmly committed to Louisiana and has no plans to leave the state.”
Senator Cain said, “This was a terrible hoax to play on the agents and their families across this state. But it was an even worse hoax for the hundreds of thousands of policy holders across this state who feared that their policies would be canceled.”
Senator Cain has called an Emergency Senate Insurance Committee meeting for Tuesday, August 1st, at 9am in the state capitol.
Allstate will be at the meeting to publicly confirm their commitment to Louisiana policy holders.
“The current commissioner created this controversy solely for political reasons and his cruel hoax has sent chills across the insurance industry”, Cain said.
“He’s creating a dangerous climate that will only cause rates to rise more than they already have.
